iPad Safely, Temporarily use fake iPad charger?

Just bought a old used iPad 1 for my little sister and it included a fake charger.

I'm kinda scared to use it but the battery is only %8 and my sister is bugging me to use it.

I just ordered a real authentic one from Apple and REALLY need to charge it, Any precautions I should take?

Right now I am watching it like a hawk and and have it connected to a surge protector.

Charger could be fine or it could be trouble. There's really no precaution to take aside from not using it at all. Your call as to what the bigger priority is and what risks you're willing to take.

Keep it away from anything flammable. You never know...
