I have a large number of photos to import into Apple Photos from a Mac, iPhone, iPad and Canon camera. I want to make sure that I do not lose the dates and meta data of the pictures. I ask this because in the past I have imported photos using Air Drop from an iPad to a Mac and they come in with the date that I imported them when looked at in Finder, not the date they were taken. Anything I have to worry about with this? Thanks

In theory that should work...

However, I’d suggest reviewing PhotoSync. I’ve been using this for quite sometime for both photo/video backups and restores without issue. It also includes the metadata and the app on your computer also has additional options.
