I heard that Apple has two major sale times in the year when they lower prices to be ready to introduce new or improved products. I want to buy a Mac Pro. When might the prices take a dip? Thanks.

I've never seen Apple discount computers for any amount of money, ever. The only way is threw their education store, or threw the refurbished section. They never drop prices to usher in new models.

Apple only ever discounts for

- Education
- Apple Employees
- Apple Developer Connection Members
- Employee Purchase Plan (varies by country, check with your employer)
- Black Friday

I have heard about Apple Stores discounting certain older products but that varies by location.

@Sneez Apple has discounts for government (local and federal). Last year you could even get a iPod cheaper w/ govt discount.

@eherdm When a newer model comes out, 2-3 times a year, you may see Apple put some in the Clearence section on Apple.com store or in store. Jan/June/Sept/Oct. is when new products come out.
