iPod Same album in different locations

I have a 5th generation 60Gb and a very frustrating problem:

In some cases I have 1 or two songs of an album that I downloaded long time ago. I then purchase and download the rest of the album from iTunes so I can get a complete album. My original songs and the ones from iTunes goes to two separate 'albums'. Yes, I have checked 'my info' and made sure the album names are the same but it still doesn't work.

Is there any way to force songs from different sources to be listed in the same album?
