Hi guys!

I received my MBP 16" yesterday and I did a few benchmark test. See outcome below. It shows that its slower than my previous MBP 15" how come?

MBP 16". single. multi core
MacBookPro16,1Intel Core i9-9880H 2300 MHz (8 cores)Mac OS X 64x86_64494428264

MBP 15"
MacBookPro15,1Intel Core i9-9880H 2300 MHz (8 cores)Mac OS X 64x86_64570930067

also noticed
  1. I have coil whining coming from the ssd inside.
  2. Temps are crazy high reaching 82 Celsius! while doing nothing

It looks like your laptop is running something rather intensive in the background, which would explain both the low single-threaded score and the high temperature.

Check out your activity monitor, CPU tab.

If you just got it, it might be doing some indexing and so forth in the background. Might want to wait a few days and try again.
