Hello,

I play a lot of video games on the internet but my connection is not great around 512kbs. I am trying to reduce the sample rate of the microphone from 44k to 22k to use less bandwith when I talk to other players. i always break up when I talk. There is no option to do that in the sound settings. Is there a way to do it? I have a macbook pro 15' 2.5 ghz intel 2 core duo. with 3gb of ram.

Thanks.

You will need to alter the settings in the game over Mac OS X, since it is the game that will supply the Mic with what sampling rate it wants. Is there no way of getting a better internet connection, or lowering the audio quality within the game itself?

Sample rate

I am afraid not. There is no way I can change the settings within the game. I might upgrade the internet but I am not sure if things will improve. I have mac os 10.5.6. Is there an option in the newer os version to change the settings of the mic?

Tks.

You can change the sample rate of the mic as well as other audio settings if you run the "Audio MIDI Setup.app" in /Applications/Utilities. I don't know if that will have the effect you want in the game though.
