The other day I bit the bullet and decided to buy a 256GB Samsung SSD. The good things I've read about Samsung's reliability were what swayed me in that direction. While I'm anxiously waiting for it to arrive so I can try it out, I've been searching around for an answer to this question both on MacRumors and other message boards and I still can't find a definite answer: Is it necessary or beneficial to enable TRIM in OS X (I understand that isn't supported by Apple) or is the drive's built in GC enough? I plan on installing Windows 7 as well, and my understanding is that TRIM can be enabled for that partition (on a side note, has anyone experienced any issues dual-booting from this drive?) from within Windows 7.
