Where I am
The supported resolution for my Early 2015 MBA, is listed below. That means if I connect it to a 49" Samsung, via HDMI, the resolution would look awful, no? Unless I am not understanding this properly...

MBA Early 2015:

Supported resolutions: 1440 by 900 (native), 1280 by 800, 1152 by 720, and 1024 by 640 pixels at 16:10 aspect ratio and 1024 by 768 and 800 by 600 pixels at 4:3 aspect ratio.

GPU: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536MB

Anyone, any input? I am more curious, than anything else. Not 100% if I would connect my MBA to my 49" monitor.

Those are the resolutions for the internal display. For an external display, Everymac confirms it supports up to 4k resolution so you should be fine.
