It is not displaying the correct size and attempts to roll back the formatting are not working. I have included a screenshot. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Are you sure it’s a genuine Samsung card, as the label seems to say it’s not.

There are lots of fake ones on some sites that use software to report fake specs.

Also, don’t know why it’s formatted as FAT12 instead of FAT32.
 
I was thinking what tyc posted above, but also suggest this:

Try formatting it to another partition format, such as Mac OS extended (journaling enabled) or APFS.

Does this change anything?

You can always RE-format it to something else later on.
 
Yes it was bought in Argos so it is real. The label is possibly

Thanks a lot. I have done this and it has restored it to its original size. unfortunately I have lost data from pre formatting (the first time, not this one), but it is a valuable lesson. Tnks again for the help
 
The Disk Utility in MacOS doesn’t have a very good reputation in formatting disks into Windows file systems, so that could explain the dodgy format...but didn’t even know FAT12 was an option in Disk Utility.
