For those of you who want an excellent SSD but don't want to spend too much on the 256/512. This would be great for those of you with older MacBook Pros who have SATA I, SATAII connections.

Good price! I missed the deal on the 256GB version... crossing my fingers it will come back soon...

So it will be compatible with sata I and II? Awesome deal thanx. Buying this even tho I got the crucial deal M4 for $109 when it first went down on price.

Yep it's backwards compatible with SATAI & SATAII. You will not get the advantage of SATAIII speeds, however. But you can use this drive in another device in the future that has SATAIII.

I highly recommend SSDs, especially for older Macs. It will give you significant boost in speed and bring new life to it. Even a 2006/2007/2008 model. Not sure of 2006 is pATA, though. Just make sure you at least have a SATAI connection in there.

Use System Information to see what SATA connection you have.

At $90 it's a steal. If you need more space, get a data doubler and replace your DVD drive with your HD that you have already and use it as a storage device :)

I have a feeling this thing is going to sell out rather quickly. Grab it while it's hot. These are some of the best drives in the market.

128GB should be enough for older Macs, it's not worth spending that much money on a 256GB unless you have a 2011 MBP so you can utilize all of the speed.

The prices will keep dropping, I expect the 256GB to be around $129 during black friday.

I have a 256GB Samsung 830 and it's the best purchase I've had as far as computer components go...even better than CPUs !

Personally waiting for the 512GB to drop in price so I can move the 256GB to another computer. But so far 256GB is enough for me, I use external FW800 drives for work.
