Hi all,

I currently have a Samsung 830 256 gb SSD in my cMBP 2012. I'm thinking about upgrading to a 840 pro for the sole reason of battery life.

For those who have upgraded from an 830 to a 840 pro, can you comment on whether battery life was improved and whether the upgrade was worth it.

Thanks

It's not worth it.

So the battery gain is negligible? I've read reports however that the 840 pro has seen battery improvements of up to an hour.

I was just wondering if anyone had person experience.

Thanks for your reply by the way.

If you want more space, it's a good SSD to move to, but purely for added battery life there really is no difference.

I agree. Battery life improvements they speak of may be referring to coming from the a HD to an SSD; not 830 to 840.
