Samsung 970 Evo in 2015 MBA?

So I was doing some browsing and came across the Sintech adapters for NVMe SSDs. Would I be able to reliably use one of these to upgrade my storage with something like the Samsung 970 Evo?

Specifically, I came across this adapter: 2013 2014 2015 MacBook Pro +Air SSD to M.2 (NGFF) PCI-e adapter

I'm just looking to upgrade the storage without costing me an arm and a leg. Any help is appreciated!

I have detailed my findings using the Samsung 950PRO, 970PRO and 970EVO NVMe drives. Short answer these drives work on the 2015 MacBook Air.
