Hi All,

What I already did:
- initialized the SSD and made a partition on the SSD via USB connector
- cloned my HD with SuperDuper
- changed the internal HD for the SSD
- rebooted (cleared RAM)

Got a white screen with mouse pointer, no possibility to chose start-up disk (via option key at start-up.

I have a
- MacBook Pro 5,5 (mid 2009) with latest OS, EFI 1.7,
- SSD Samsung 840 EVO 500GB

I read a lot of threads about compatibility, but can not find a answer that helps. Can anyone share a best practice or opinion about the configuration?

Hope someone can help! Thanks!

Personally I would just put the SSD in and do a clean install of OSX.

Then just transfer important things I needed via USB from the old drive to the new.
