For all you HDTV nuts, one of the more anticipated LCD televisions is close to ready for shipping according to engadget. Here is a nice set of photos from engadget along with a damn poor reporting job when compared to the article detailing this news in Twice.com. It is great to get to press or the wire first, but engadget time and again either does a crappy job report or makes major mistakes, see apple stock value drop incident.

Anyway, the TV looks fantastic and has all the features I could want:

  • 1080p
  • LED backlight
  • 100,000:1 contrast ratio
  • 10-bit processing
  • 120Hz
  • 3 x HDMI 1.3 ports, USB, ATSC
  • 8ms response time

Prices, not cheap, but not outrageous at all, kind of like buying an Apple product.;) See Engadget and Twice for detailed pricing, but the LCDs range from $3,000 - $7,000 and measure between 40" and 57".
