I would like to buy a monitor 22-24" at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 to use for gaming with my i7 macbook pro. My price range is about $300-$350 and so far the Samsung PX2370 looks like my best bet.

This will be my first time having a serious monitor to use with a macbook pro so I'm a little hesitant about it mostly because I have never been able to get my macbook pro's to connect well with my 46" 1080p screen as something always seems to get cut off which is definitely not an option in this case. Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone with more experience with external screens + MBPs could tell me if there's a better option out there or if I should be able to buy the two products I've linked to above and go about my merry way!

Thanks in advance, guys!

For gaming i would seriously consider a 22 inch with 1680x1050 res.
1920x1080/1200 is simply too much for the 330m to drive with decent eyecandy.

Thanks for the response! I've been running Starcraft 2 at about 40 FPS on medium/high settings at 1920x1200 directly on my macbook pro. SC2 being the most graphically intensive game that I play... What really concerns me is the connectivity or potential loss/lag from the adapter. I could be worried about nothing or just plain sounding stupid here... I admit to having no experience with external monitors, but I do know that my 17" MBP has spoiled me so that 1920x1080 is as low as I can go on resolution.
