I've had my Samsung 65 Q9FN for a few days and have a problem. After watching Apple TV via HDMI for a while, the TV starts randomly rebooting. It turns off and then on and resumes playing apple TV where it left off. It takes about 5 seconds or so to reboot. Once it starts happening, it does so every minute or so. I haven't seen this happen on any other source (cable, xbox). I've tried a whole bunch of troubleshooting including changing the HDMI connection to a different one on the one connect box, changing various video settings on the TV and apple tv end, it still happens. Samsung support is stumped.

When I connect an older non-4k apple tv I don't have this issue.

Any thoughts?

I'm getting something similar on my Samsung MU6400. Sometimes I get a distorted picture, but sometimes I get a seeming boot loop.

I have a Samsung 75 Q9FN connected through HDMI to a 4k Apple TV. No issues of any sort. Why not try another 4k Apple TV to see if the same behavior is observed?

Tried a brand new 4kATV, same issue. I can make it go away by dialing the settings down from 4k to 1080.

Try a different HDMI cable. Use a high speed for 4K cable.

I facing flickering issue previously on normal not high speed HDMI cable. The issue gone after I change to a high speed for 4K HDMI cable.

Same with X900F sony. Also latest top line tv. Tried all sorts of cables, only solution is to hard reboot the device, unplug power.

How is your sound when streamin 4k? My sound cuts out only at 4k content. And only on atv.

I haven't had any sound issues while it is displaying 4k from ATV, just induces a reboot loop as mentioned in OP after a few minutes.

I have ordered a new belkin HDMI cable that has a good reputation of supporting ATV to see if that's the issue.

I hope that fixes it for you. Maybe tvos 12 will bring improVements to hdr, 4k etc.

[doublepost=1533700722][/doublepost]I have new Panasonic FZ950 OLED. No problems at all with HDR and 4k. Don't try to stream 4K via wireless. The combination of newer audio formats and video quality can saturate WIFI easily espeially for Blu Ray files. All my home network is wired ethernet for media streaming. 10Gbps backbone. I have no problems with this configuration except the lack of Apple TV Atmos DTS-X bitstream output. The Apple TV 4K doesn't support HDMI 2.0b so any normal "hi speed" cable is fine.

So funny you say that, i hardwires as well!to experiment. though the tv built in netflix app streams 4k without issues or bluray player. Even amazon firestick and amazon stationary unit have no sound hickupps. Just atv. I have the xfinity gig also.

I will try to swap the atv to experiment some more.

What an annoying issue. Hopefully it will be resolved. It makes me glad I managed to buy a dump 4k TV while they were available. I have zero technical bugs or gremlins with my TV. No forced software updates or occasional resets.

After switching it on it just works. With my devices plugged into the soundbar, input switch automatically if I pick up a Sky remote, PS4 controller or ATV remote.

Got the same issue but it happens even when I'm not using Apple TV - like netflix from built in App. Have the Samsung Q9FN as well. You find a resolution?
