Well not literally but I'm pretty much down a phone.

I requested UPS to hold the item for me rather than attempt to deliver and then have it return back to the station. I went and picked it up and decided to open the package in the store. Upon breaking the tape seal, I literally froze when I saw what was in side.

What I found inside was a Samsung Galaxy S2 empty box.

Clearly, someone opened up the package previously, and just stuck a "will call for pickup" sticker on it instead. :(

Now, I'm down an iPhone and Apple is launching an investigation. Whenever they FINISH that, they'll get around to processing a replacement. I got my confirmation email at 3:02 AM on launch day and was part of the first batch of Verizon 32GB Gold phones to go out. I'll literally be iin late October before they process and send out the replacement.

Sorry to hear :(

Wonder why the hell they would even put in a GS2 into the box at all? Why not just put in some rocks instead if you really want to steal?

Hope they find the creep who did it and that you get a replacement.

In the meantime... enjoy android! ;)

It was an EMPTY GS2 box. The guy clearly had a sense of humor though much of it is wasted.

That sucks. When the fed ex guy came with my phone, I opened the box first before signing for it. I have read some of the nightmare stories on here and didn't want to risk getting burned.

Smart man. I signed for it before opening. Because I signed for it, even though I opened it right there, they wouldn't refuse the package for me. That's why they've told me to file a case with apple and UPS. Absolutely ridiculous.

Oof :(

This is why I don't order online. I know not everyone has this luxury but I really REALLY don't trust the delivery process until I have my iPhone in hand.

Is there a Serial number on the empty box that could be used to track the original owner? Might find him walking around with your 5s.

While I've got my phone's serial, it's absolutely useless since you can't track it by that nor was it ever activated, and no no one would walk around with it just out in the open.

You know thats been sold on eBay already! Sucks man.

You need to raise hell at apple, you deserve the very next gold phone that leaves that factory.

I wonder how that works. I believe the OP but imagine you're an apple (or UPS) rep and someone calls saying they just got their 5s delivered (with signature confirmation) but somehow it wasn't in the box?

As an apple (or UPS) rep I'd assume they would be like "yeah right , good job trying to scam us for another 5s but no that's not happening" unless of course, the driver has a long history of complaints doing this. But it's too easy to blame the driver, it could have been ANYONE in the delivery process.

Just thinking out loud. Don't mind me.

See the infuriating thing is I was calling them while I was still in the store. It's like all the pieces are just right there but no one's looking at them. @$^&%&:confused::confused:

Yeah a 32GB gold verizon iphone just sold for over 1000 on ebay

How do you expect them to explain when I open the box IN THE STORE right in front of them!?
