Samsung t809

I have a samsung t809 and i'm having trouble with the input. I don't know how, but every time i go to type a new text message, the T9 predictive text input is the default input method. If anyone has a t809 please let me know if it's possible to change the default text input mode for text messages.

i have a t-809... as of now, i have no idea, it has become second nature now to just press the soft key on the right three times before i type anything, verrry annoying....
