I have an old Samsung XL2370 Sync Master connected to an equally old 2009 Mac mini. (I remain amazed at how much faster that old box seems compared to my newer 2017 iMac.) The Mini and monitor work well together except that sometimes when the Mac puts the display to sleep, the monitor seems to switch itself off. The only way to get it back on again is to unplug it from the power supply and then restore the power. (On the monitor, the Off Timer is disabled.)
I connected the monitor to a Raspberry Pi 4. No matter what the Pi did the monitor did not turn itself off.
So, I conclude that it must be the Mini causing this.
Any ideas?
