I know it is amazing that San Jose hasn't had an Apple store yet, but that's about to change. The Oakridge mall is the site for the new store to open this winter.

I'm betting we can support at least 4 or 5 more than the already existing 7 stores and the 3 currently planned stores (San Francisco's second, Santa Rosa, and now San Jose.) The hometown will be well represented.
