Sanity check: moving up to 4.x from 3.x 3GS

I have a 3GS on 3.1.2, Sprit, blackra1n unlock, SHSH blob saved on Cydia

I have put off moving up to 4.x until now (since JB is out).

Just for sanity check, my understanding is I can simply sync and upgrade to the latest 4.0.1 from itunes normally, open mobile safari to jailbreakme.com to jailbreak and that's it. I can still unlock with blackra1n from Cydia.

long time jailbreaker here but this new method is almost TOO easy that I want to make sure I am not missing anything here.

If someone can quick reply with a simple YES (there is nothing else I need to worry about) or NO (I missed something) I would appreciate it.

p.s. I haven't update my iTunes to the latest. I am still on 9.1. Is it ok to do so? Could be wrong but I remember reading a while back not to update so I haven't.

Yes. But you should use ultrasn0w to unlock with the new baseband.

Yep, this is one of those rare occasions where literally everyone can update to the latest everything and be fine for jailbreak and unlock.
 
I went 3.1.3 3GS Spirit to 4.01 jailbreakme and didn't even bother restoring in between. I had to reinstall a few things (five icon dock, new mywi), but it had retained things like my repos and mywi settings. There are a few bumps (on both mine and my friends' 3GS there was one hang requiring hard restart) but overall it's stupid easy. No regrets so far.
