Recently when my mbp goes into screen saver, it will just freeze. The mbp is still on but I can't do anything but power it down. It works fine after I reboot but once it goes into screen saver, shortly after it will freeze again. Is this a common issue? I'm using Snow Leopard.

Thanks

Dont use the screen saver, just put the display to sleep instead (w/o putting computer to sleep)

I would like to point out that the Santa Rosa MBP is the one with the defective graphics chips. Maybe yours finally bit the dust. Maybe Apple will do something about it since there was a recall on those computers.

I'm in the same boat, have a Santa Rosa MBP as well. Luckily, mine has been stable.

Quite possibly, I had everything replaced in my Penryn already once.
