Doesn't seem like too big a "coinidence" that two of them leaked info on the same day. But for those of us waiting to see what the new notebooks will be like, maybe these will give us a hint.

They all have 800mhz frontside bus, GM965 chipset, and 802.11n wireless as expected. I would expect this to be true both the Macbooks and MBP's.

The embedded GPU is the Intel x3100. I don't know how big an upgrade this is from the 950, but I know it's supposed to include HDMI output. Odds are it's nicer than the 950 but still by no means a gaming chip. What the MBP will use is anybody's guess.

HP - expected for sale May 9

Sony - available July

Nice find, the top end models include Blu Ray drives which would very a very welcome addition to the MBPs

The new integrated GPU is expected to equal the X1600. Basically you'll be getting Macbook Pro performance in a Macbook as far as the screen goes.

Then the question is... what will the MBP get? Hopefully a 2600, but honestly I just can't see it.

Do I understand correctly? I'm itching to buy a new MacBook-- I don't "need" one, so I can wait, but I want one, so I don't have to wait. It sounds like I won't have buyer's remorse by buying now vs. waiting "x" weeks, right?

### Imo, waiting for the x3000 in a Macbook is very worth waiting for...which should show up around late July for the back-to-schoolers.

The GMA X3000 is noticeably better than the GMA 950. The 950 includes a software vertex shader, but no pixel shader or even T&L unit. The X3000 includes all of that in hardware. (The lesser GMA 3000 does *NOT* include the hardware T&L unit, and is essentially a slightly upgraded 950.)
