That is a very sad thing to happen at a charity event. Those responsible should be punished. Limiting alcohol seems to be the only main weapon of prevention. Here in Boston it was done during the World Series. It was under encouragement by the Mayor, but voluntary on part of bars and restaurants near Fenway.

Teaching people how not behave like wankers when they drink would probably be more beneficial. That way the people who aren't morons get to have a beer and not be treated like children.
 
They don't really know if these people were part of the race.

It happened 7 hours after the finish :D

And many Santa suits were left in the park after the race ended....

Classic :D

I can just see bands of roving Santas....ha, here in the US, the homeless would be grabbing up the suits - that would look quite odd....

The mayor was way out of line on that one- he wanted to force all the bars to shut down during the games! Glad he didn't get away with it. Why not take away everyone's scissors because somebody might run with them? :rolleyes:
