Ok, I need some real help here. Hopefully someone will read this who can help me some. I zipped up more than 1000 files or folders and stored them on a external Harddrive. I used the program Sarchiver by www.bitpersecond.com. I zipped them up while using my iMac using 10.14 Mojave, but now with Catalina, it will not open , I see a round circle with a line through it. Meaning it will not run on this OS. Had I zipped them up normally it would still be able to open. but I used the self-extracting option Creating SFX Archive. But now that I did this, It will not unzip. I want to know if there is a way out there to do a mass unzipping and still be able to keep them in their own folders or zip file. Then I will re-zip them with a compatible zip program.
I know on solution is to unzip them on a older mac that has Mojave, but that's a ton of work, over 100 folders that were zipped. Any ideas ? The developer apparently went out of business. Does not have a web anymore, yet they are still selling the zip program on Downloads.com. Makes no sense. To redo 1000+ files will take up so much time, and looking for a faster solution. Or another case how can I open this zip file which is apparently 32 bit file up with another software but on Catalina?
Or Can I convert the SFX back to a regular zip file in a timely manner? (fast way)
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
