I've been using a 867MHz Quicksilver for quite some time under Tiger with a SIIG-3114-R1 SATA card as a file server.
Once I updated my MacBook to snow leopard I found out using time machine and directing it to an AFP share on the time machine no longer worked.
I found out that I had to update the Quicksilver to leopard due to some changes in the AFP protocol if I wanted to get time machine working again.
I put in my Leopard DVD and rebooted the machine and it instantly kernel panicked.
I removed the SATA card cause I had a feeling it was the culprit, it was, the machine booted the dvd fine, I installed Leopard and updated it to 10.5.8 hoping that a driver may have been fixed in-between 10.5 and 10.5.8.
No such luck, anyone have any idea on how to make this work?
The machine won't even make it to the login screen before it kernel panics when booting Leopard.
