Hi all,

I know, there are some threads about SATA cards for the G5 here, but the answers were not really clear for me.

I'm talking about the cards with the ASM1061 chip.
Do I need any drivers for them and if yes, where to download them?
Do I need to modify the firmware? Where to get the Mac firmware?

I've found a cheap card on Amazon Germany (a similiar one was shown in another thread here):

http://www.amazon.de/Express-Adapte...4521&sr=8-3&keywords=2+port+esata+3.0+asm1061

I have a DualCore G5/ 2GHz, PCI-Express, 10.5

THX,
Yassi

That card is for a Windows machine and finding drivers for a Mac would be extremely hard, due to that card being 3rd party. Some of the only ones out there are Sonnet cards which are close to 100$
