If your SATA 3 SSD does the occasional beach ball freeze, do you have SMS turned off?

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1934

I'm currently testing this out myself but wanted to see if anyone who has a SATA III SSD has turned off their SMS and still experiences the occasional beach ball effect.

Just trying to troubleshoot this thing - thanks!

Hrmm... I am seeing beach ball activities myself - though not sure if it's cause I'm forcing it or if it's waiting for something else. Was playing StarCraft II while running handbrake on a DVD.

I got a beachball just now when waking from sleep. I wouldn't think the SMS would be a factor because the machine was not moving.

I have a hard drive as well, and wonder if turnning the SMS off is a good idea for that.

Anyway the SMS should only cause a pause if triggered.... not a beachball that lasts several minutes until you give up and force boot.
