I am looking for a SATA PCI controller card for my G4 (AGP graphics)

I can find Mac brands (Sonnet, Firmtek, Acard) that supply these cards but they are on the pricy side (i'm in europe and those brands are expensive over here if they are imported at all)

Is there any chance that a regular (i.e. not specifically intended for Apple hardware) controller card will work? Like no-brand controller cards with a VIA chip or any other chip?

What is the difference between PC versions and Mac versions? Is firmware/bios an issue here, like it is the case with graphic cards?

Any insight is appreciated.

I have a Sonnet Tempo Serial ATA card

Willing to ship internationally if you pay $45 for the card + actual shipping costs.

Most of the time PC cards won't work in a Mac. The Sonnet cards are really nice, I have a Sonnet Tempo in my PowerMac right now, workin' great!
