So I have this picture of what I have:

I'm not sure what it is, but this is what I think it is: I believe it is an SATA connector on my external hard drive. It was in an iomega casing, but I think the casing's logic board (I think) quit because I did a power test and none of the board got power. So seeing nothing else but to learn, I took it apart. That's what came out. Now what I'm asking is one: Am I correct in my assessment? Two: If it is correct, is there something that I can put this thing that I have into so that it can read it, analogous to a card read for SD cards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
catfish

The thing I'm worried about is if the drive will fit in the enclosure, both physically and the connection. As I can't really see pictures of them on the inside I'm not sure what to do to verify it.

You are holding a standard 3.5" SATA hard drive. There are a large number of enclosures out there that will easily connect to your drive.
Exactly. Any enclosure that states it fits a 3.5" SATA drive, and sends the data through a port (USB, FW400/800,...) you have available, will work. :)

I have one of these and I love it. I mostly use it for Time Machine.

Nice thing about it is it reads both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA drives, and is self-powered.

That's pretty cool. With what I showed, I always have to have a place to set the drive. I like this one and might have to put it on my wish list.
