If I connect on the left site a Satechi Type-C multiport adapter to my Macbook Pro 2017 the wifi will shut down. Connected to the right side it continues to work. Some seem to experience the same issue, but I could not find a workable solution (some suggest wrapping the adapter in foil). Has there been an official solution to this problem that I am unaware of?

I'll -guess- that it's electronic "interference" from having a USB3 device attached -- particularly since the problem disappears when you connect the device to the right-side port.

Solutions:
- always connect to the right side
- get a DIFFERENT adapter (no promise that it won't throw off interference, as well)
- get some tinfoil

Which is easiest/best to do?

Upgrade to 5 GHz Wi-Fi (i.e. get a wireless n or ac router), if possible. It's long overdue!
