So I have a 2017 13" MacBook Pro with the 2 thunderbolt ports. I went out and bought the Satechi Pro Hub with 4K HDMI. After getting it hooked up I notice (and I read the specs) that the one thunderbolt Type-C can either charge or push to an external display like I have my 4K (60HZ Not 30Hz) Dell monitor hooked to, and the other is a standard Data transfer type C.
I currently have my Dell hooked up through a Jcreate Type-C to 4K Displayport and when I plug it in the none thunderbolt type-c port in the hub, it doesn't recognize my monitor.
Even though the second port isn't thunderbolt, I would assume its still suppose tp read my monitor because its Type-C or is that not the case?
I was going to head to Microcenter to swap it out for a new one to see if I have a defective one but I wanted to make sure this device was capable of what I needed it to do. I am also awaiting to here back from tech support as well.
