Hello,

Satechi USB Hub, which is plugged on the side of MacBook with two USB-C connectors, is there any possibility for it to scratch the side body of MacBook Pro? I am thinking about buying this one or almost the same but on the cable to avoid such risks.

Anybody has an experience with Satechi?

Thanks,

I purchased their USB 3 Hub for my iMac. It was advertised as fitting flush and lining up with the iMac ports. It did not and would have required modification to fit. Besides that there was definitely a danger of scratching. I wrote about it to Satechi and never received a reply. In my opinion, they (Satechi) hubs are not worth purchasing. Of course you need to decide that for yourself.

Could you post a picture. I want to see what it looks like on the mac.

Also, does it get hot and only charge in one of the ports?

Picture is attached. It's matches the Mac space grey perfectly, and I believe it comes in all the colours the Mac does.
It can get a little warm at times (I guess when the system is drawing a lot of power?), and only the very top plug can be used for charging, the other USB-C plug is data only.

Does the screen hit it at all when closed? Also any errors or system issues with the things that are plugged in?
