For everyone who's rushing to buy their new MBP's this week, Amazon.com has Apple Care for $299 instead of the $349 Apple charges on their site.

Save yourself a little extra cash and buy it through Amazon.com

I live in Florida and I have read that Applecare is not legally available to FL residents. Is this true and if so why is it that it appears I can purchase it from the Apple store? I would hate to spring the cash for it and then find later down the road if I needed to use it, that it was not valid for Florida.

I have Apple Care for my iMac. That works fine.

I live in NYC and they don't charge tax when shipped here. I'd assume that Washington state would be the same, no? Or do you often get punished?
I think this is how it works (below).
If an online retailer has a physical presence in a particular state, such as a store, business office, or warehouse, it must collect sales tax from customers in that state. If a business does not have a physical presence in a state, it is not required to collect sales tax for sales into that state.
