I just got a iPhone 3gs running 3.1.3 with a TON of great apps. It also has a bunch of crappy movies and music. I've been told that if I sync up to itunes it will wipe the phone clean. I've also been told that it will just delete the music and movies. I'm good with that since I want the music and movies gone, but I don't want to loose those apps. Can someone please give me the right info?

Thanks so much!

No it is not, I got the phone from a third party.

Basically they are apps that you yourself did not buy. If you don't know the Apple ID/password of the purchaser, you will not be able to save them or redownload them.

So you "got" a phone form a a "third party" who didn't bother to clear any of their info off of it? I'm not saying you, but sounds like someone stole this phone.

I can understand your concern but I bought this phone from CL and the "third party" left all the apps, songs and music for me. This is totally legit.

I think your going to have to restore. The apps are not linked to your itunes account so you can't transfer them.

You can use Senuti to transfer songs

(shrugs) either way, just restore. Still not sure what you're trying to loose those apps on....the unsuspecting public?

Sorry for my ignorance, but let me just clear this up. When I restore the phone, everything that was previously on there (apps included) will be deleted?

Thanks for your help.

When you restore the phone everything will be deleted. It will basically be a stock iPhone. Oh and it will update to the latest OS 4.2.1. If you are currently unlocked DO NOT RESTORE.

Thank you so much. I am unlocked so I will just sync to iTunes and live with the results.
