SAVE AS Browser Window Display Problem

Mac OS 10.4.8. When in an application and I want to Save As (in detail view) the window somehow flipped...the Folders all the way to the right, and, most of the folders do not show up. When I click on a folder....several lines highlight. Seems to be corrupted, or something? Any suggestions? :eek:
