When i right link an image on Safari, Chrome and hit the shortcut for "Save Image As" instead of opening the save dialog window I have to click it first. Is there a way when I right click and hit S to open the save as dialog?

Tried pressing the Spacebar after the selection is done?

On Safari 7.0.1 under Mavericks when I right click a web photo and select Save Image As... I get the dialogue box shown below. If I hit return (enter) it saves the image to the Desktop.

I don't have to click anywhere.

My question is how to select "Save Image As" by a key and not clicking. For example in windows if I right click on an image and press 'V" it opens the save dialog (chrome). This is not happening with mavericks. if I press "S" (chrome) it just highlights the "Save Image As" and I have to click it.

As mentioned or asked before, have you tried pressing the SPACEBAR after the secondary menu item is selected?

In other words, right click on the image, press S, press SPACEBAR.

Sorry, I have tried pressing S & spacebar and nothing happens. If I highlight the "Save Image As" using the mouse and press space then save as window appears.

Tried the ENTER key instead? Somehow the SPACEBAR only works, if the mouse pointer as moved a bit after pressing S but before pressing SPACEBAR.

Try this:
1. Right click : contextual menu appears.
2. Press 'S' key : "Save Image as..." item hilites.
3. Press 'Return' key : Dialog appears.

I just tried this on 3 different OS and Safari versions, and it works this way on all of them.

There is no way to work like windows version of chrome, without pressing enter?

Only browser I can get to do this is Firefox. Just right click the image and hit V key, will open Save As: dialogue box. Does not work the same in Safari & Chrome.

If you're just downloading them to your desktop, you can always just drag the image to your desktop from the browser without having to mess with the "save as" dialog.
