I have a Macbook Pro and an iPhone 5s registered using the same Apple ID. When I set up message forwarding on iPhone, the same Macbook Pro's name appear multiple times. It used to be 10 times but now it is 5 times. Only one of them (the last one) works. If I toggle this one, I get the verification code on my Mac. If I toggle others, no response on the Mac. Also, if I change the computer name of the MBP, only the last one shows the changes in computer names and other remain unchanged.

I am wondering why the same device appear multiple times. Is it possible that this is related to the fact I have clean install the MBP a few times?

Anyone has similar problem?

Just solved the problem. Change the iCloud password removes all the ghost devices under message forwarding.
