Save iTunes iPhone Backup

Does anyone know where iTunes saves the backups it makes from devices?
I need to reinstall my OS, so I am trying to find this file to store for when iTunes is reinstalled.

I found this on iClarified, but It's not exactly what I need. I don't think this method would be something iTunes can restore from.

Copy the backup file to a flash drive or other media, and then copy it to the "new" iTunes backup folder, after the OS reinstall, and you should be good to go.
