Hello,

I dropped my Macbook laptop and now it refuses to turn on, and the screen hinges have disjointed. I don’t know if it can be fixed, but I want to be able to save my data. I have been advised to remove the hard drive and insert it into a 2.5 SATA HDD Caddy, you can buy from Amazon. Is this a good product to use or something different? They require a usb cable to transfer data, but I don't have another computer to do this. Can I put the Mac HD into the SATA HDD Caddy and transfer my data without connecting it to another computer? And will the data store on a 2.5 SATA HDD Caddy or could I connect that directly to an external HD (which I have) to transfer data over. Also when I've transferred the data and put the HD back in Macbook will a copy of my data still be on the HD?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you! :apple:
