Ok so I have searched and looked and read and everything, but I do not know if I am finding the correct answer.
:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:
I have ALOT of music (63,335 songs, 270 days, 560 GB)!
Most of which is on my external drive, but some of the newly downloaded tracks are on my MacBook.

Just so we are clear, when I open iTunes it loads ALL the music. If the drive is not hooked up and I try to play a track I get an '!' next to the track. And asked if I'd like to relocate it. Which I click Cancel because when the drive is hooked back up the songs will play. And i am ok with all this. but..

Now I am running out of room. I need to move all the music on my Mac to my external drive. (I know how to move the files!) I also need to save my playlists because I am a DJ and the playlists are how i stay organized.

I have read lots about moving libraries and such, but I'm not sure I've found exactly my answer. SO....

How do I add my Mac library to my external drive and save my playlists?

ALSO in my preferences I currently have unchecked both boxes in the Advanced section
