I'd like to save a "If Found" note to my iPhone home screen. Is there anyway to save a text file to the home screen that is accessible regardless of internet access?

ps. I know there are other "if found" solutions, but I'd like to pursue this one

pps. I have a jailbroken 3G

TIA

nope, unless you write yourself an application for jailbroken phones

and there are several free if found type things in the app store

I figured out a work-around, if anyone else is interested.

1. Create a Google account (if you don't already have one). If you do, log into Google

2. Go to Google Page Creator (http://pages.google.com/)

3. Create a new page with your "if found" details

4. Publish the page. It'll create a URL with your page

5. Go to http://iwebsaver.com/ on your iPhone

6. Type in your Google page URL and click "save it now"

7. When the website loads, save it to your home screen with the name "IF FOUND"

The Google page you created with your "if found" details is now on your home screen, and can be accessed offline

Are you doing this incase you lose your phone and somebody else finds it?

Yes, and they're honest enough to try to find me.

My man, no offence, but you honestly think if someone else finds an iPhone they're going to return it?

All they gotta do is swap SIMs and they got a brand new iPhone for themselves.

That being said, you honestly think you're going to lose it to the point you are going through this amount of trouble to making a note on the home screen incase its found?

Considering it took about 10 minutes to do (including the time to make this thread, figure out the work-around, make the note, and save it on my home screen), I'd say it was a good investment in case I DO lose my phone and it IS found by an honest person.

I would like to see a badge with the number of texts on the notes icon in the main screen. There are silmply things but they helps a lot

There are honest people in the world. :)
