Save Static Website to Home Screen?

Hi, I have a few websites that display some useful data that never changes that I'd like to have in a convenient spot on my home screen. I've saved the link to my home screen, but it seems that every time I open the link, it loads the page. Is there any way I can have it load a local copy instead? I often need to pull it up on a subway where I have no Internet connection at all. I can make due with storing the data in an app like Notes, but it'd be nice to have a short cut directly on my home screen.

I wouldn't have the shortcut to it from my Homescreen, then... Also, As time goes on it would move further up in my camera roll.

Save it as a PDF on your computer and put it in iBooks. Or make a picture of it your background.

There is a middle icon in safari that acts as a share. Click it and look for add to home screen. The icon looks like a box with arrow coming out
