hello All,

Since I have installed SL, when I try to print to PDF from the print menu or save a PDF I'm viewing with Preview (for example) from a website, the text of the PDF is completely garbled/scrambled.

I don't have this problem when I use Acrobat 8 Pro only when I am using the OS PDF or saving and/or printing from Preview. I have cleared the font cache, but no solution.

Have searched all over and can't find anyone else with the same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You.

have you tried this from a new test user account?

thatd be the first place to troubleshoot, and after that can determine other methods to troubleshoot.

Saving and/or Printing PDF from Preview creates garbled text.

Thanks for your response. Didn’t try that. I'll give it a try though and see what happens.

Tried on "Guest" account and does the same thing. Example:

I go to a website. Purchase something and want to print the receipt. I click on the print button on the site, the receipt opens in Preview. When I go to print or save the file it looks like 3/4 of the fonts are missing or garbled on the saved file or the printout. Here is a link to an example of what the printout looks like:

I have tried in both Firefox and Safari--same issue. It only happens when I use Preview to save or print. Does not happen with Adobe 8 Pro. Thought that it might be a font issue but not sure what to do about it.

thanks for your advice.

I can’t say whether this would help or not, but it can’t hurt. Open up Font Book and go to Edit > Resolve Duplicates.

For some reason "resolve duplicates" is grayed out. Tried it with--All Fonts; English; User and Computer. Been Googling for a couple of days but can't seem to find anything or anyone else who has this problem. See a lot about font issues. Could it be a font issue with Preview? I have MS Office for Mac 2008 installed. I have read that there is some issues with fonts that MS Office installs but don't know if this would cause an issue with browsers or Preview.
