Hello,

I want to save a file on a NAS.
If I'm in a writer and I want to save it on a NAS, I get the message that I have not the permissions to save it on there.
The only way to get the file on the NAS is to first save it on the desktop en then drag the file from the desktop to the NAS.

How can I directly save a file on a NAS?

Thanks,
WDG

If the NAS is formatted as HFS+ you can add yourself to a folders permissions, to do so click on the Folder on the Mac, get Info on the Folder by Hitting Command-I, click the padlock in the Get Info window, then hit the plus sign and add yourself to the Users, if it is Read only you have to set it to Read/Write.

Hi Perry,

First of all, thanks for your reply!

I have limited Mac / OSX knowledge, and this is a customer's iMac.
The NAS is in a network on a remote location, and I'm pretty sure it's formatted in a Windows filesystem and shared via SMB, will this solution work for that?
