im going through all my old disks ive torn out of old external units and condensing them

when i buy a new HDD 3.5 Disk
DO I HAVE to use a NAS-Disk?
or could i use a 2T Seagate green "compute" disk

but im not using a network
From reading, I get the Nas Disks are used for Networks and are "CRS"
and the Seagate Green Compute is a SMR
,
But ill be just coping over and putting the drive in a case and storing it
once and a while pulling off a jpeg or CSR file

Do I really need a more expensive Nas Disk?

thanks
John
