I recently upgraded to a shiny C2D MBP from a PB and I keep all my active files in iDisk on .mac and since the upgrade whenever I save files from MS Office apps (2004) back to idisk it takes about 3 to 5 mins during which time the lovely beachball spins and spins and...

Any ideas?

That might be explained by the fact that Office will run in the Rosetta emulation layer on the MBP.

Most suggestions in such a case involve adding more memory.

I have 3 gigs! It's the top of the range 2.33 GHz too...

It seems to be saving to iDisk that's the problem as it saves instantly to my documents folder

iDisk speed depends on your upload speed, not the speed of your computer
Thanks! you have inadvertently caused me to fix it, when I set up my new computer I forgot to tell iDisk to store a local copy on my HDD. It now works a treat, and it has nothing at all to do with my upload speed :)
