Saving GPS Coordinates in Contacts

Hello -

I live in Oman which has few registered Google addresses. So, I'd like to save some GPS coordinates in my Contacts app so I can click on them to call up the map.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I have figured out how to save coordinates (ex. 23.601339,58.40806), but the iPhone requires the country name which invalidates the coordinates.

This seems like it should be a pretty easy thing to accomplish.

Any ideas?

Add coordinates as a webpage in contacts but preface the address with http://maps.google.com/maps?q=your_coordinates

This should open up iOS maps.

Thanks for the advice. I would actually like to store these coordinates in the Address field so it can be used with the Reminders app in iOS5. Is there any way to save it in the Address field?

Select the card you want then click edit, then in the menu select Card/Add Field/URL. This will add a field for that card where you can save the custom URL you created using lunarmarc's tip.

I'm afraid for the Reminder map, the GPS coordinates need to be in the address field.

Any ideas?
