Saving iMessages to computer

I am wanting to save my text messages from my iPhone on my computer in a readable format such as a pdf. I have found various softwares and programs that do this, but they all require a subscription or some fee. Is there a way to do this without downloading anything, or has someone found a program that does it and is actually free?

I don't know of anything that's free.
