I recently bought my first mac in 10 years. A Macbook which I have been loving. But I was wondering if there was a way to save DVDs to my hard drive for later viewing. I also want the DVDs to be compressed so it doesn't take that much of my hard drive's memory. I have Roxio's Toast 8 Titanium, and I think I can do it with that, but I'm just not sure how. Thanks for your help.

Try Handbrake or it's offspring beta brother MediaFork. They are both free DVD to MPEG-4 ripper/converters and offer simple drag and drop UIs.
